There is no second thought on the rising obesity levels across the world, but it has yet to be dealt with successfully. While there has been no significant change in the way youngsters are gorging on unhealthy food, it has to be made clear that still targeted efforts are required to be made.
With children becoming easy target of junk food, there is dire need of strategic efforts. It was found by a team from the British Heart Foundation (BHF). It has been said that the team from the BF surveyed nearly 2,000 secondary school pupils about their eating habits. While fatty food and other aerated drinks becoming part of regular diet, there is mp doubt whatsoever that children are certainly falling to the nexus of unhealthy food.
It was found from the survey that there are as many as 33% of 11 to 15-year-olds in the UK who are dealing with obesity and if the current situation is to be seen, there are fair chances that things would become even more worse in the time to come.
Obesity not only affects one physically but it has mental consequences as well. "This generation of children may not live longer than their parents due to the implications of their lifestyle on levels of obesity, type 2 diabetes and heart disease”, said charity's senior dietician Victoria Taylor, who is of the opinion that there is a lot to be done in order to address the issues of obesity and related diseases.
With young people in Scotland gorging on sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks every day, there is a lot to worry about the rising rate of obesity in the coming time. If reports are to be referred to, obesity has range of long term health consequences and if concrete measures are not being placed within time, situation could go out of hand.
