It has been reported that the health administration of Obama has decided to launch $1 billion grant program with the pursuit of improving the health care services. The grant would be utilized over numerous organizations which provide training to health workers.
The program has been dubbed "Health Care Innovation Challenge". The aim of the program is to improve the quality of health services without impacting the cost. Patients seeking care at Medicare, Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program would be able to avail the benefits of the program.
While acknowledging benefits of the program, the, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius said, "Both public and private community organizations around the country are finding innovative solutions to improve our health care system and the Health Care Innovation Challenge will help jump-start these efforts".
It has been informed that the program is a part of Obama 2010 health care law. As per the program, the medical services providers would be provided with $1 billion grant for coming up with innovative ideas of bring efficiency in the way care is being provided to the patients.
The organizations which train health workers are also eligible for the grant. The step taken by Obama administration would no doubt help in encouraging medical health services in coming up with unique and cost effective techniques of improving health services.
Many health service providers like Medicare and Medicaid Services have volunteered for the grant. The Medicare and Medicaid Services are already in the good books of government as it reduced the readmission rates of patients with heart diseases.
It has been informed that the award of $1 billion would be divided in small amounts, like $1 million and onwards. The health services coming forward with best ideas would be provided with award and the award will be presented to various organizations for a period of three years.
