SWFT Eyes George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust

SWFT Eyes George Eliot Hospital NHS TrustThere seems to be some relief for troubled George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, as reports have indicated that South Warwickshire Foundation Trust (SWFT) has shown interest in acquiring it.

The SWFT so far has been running Warwick Hospital, but now it's eyeing another trust so that it could make itself eligible for attaining foundation status by 2014.

It's being expected that is this deal seam through, the trust would be able to draw as much as £300 million per year as turnover. The chief executive of SWFT, Glen Burley, is told to be quite positive about the deal, as this could give them an opportunity to build a stronger organization which could provide effective services to those living in Warwickshire.

"As we already run community services in the north of the county, there would be further benefits from vertically integrating care in the North in partnership with GPs", said Mr. Burley, while claiming that there is possibility that once the George Eliot Hospital reveals its cards, there trust would be given the desired level of preference.

However, the lingering fears in the minds of people living in the south of the county have been cleared by assuring that this venture would not affect their services at any other location. It has been made clear that there would be no compromise whatsoever in terms of quality health services to the local population even if any other venture is being picked. Whatever is being done is for the betterment of the trust and the patients by and large.

However, the picture seems to be quite different other way, as George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust claimed that the process is at very nascent level thus it's very difficult to predict what lies in the future. As of now, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is weighing all the options so that best decision can be taken.
