Immediately after the Gillard government withdrew its legislation to modify the Migration Act, the country’s parliamentary Officials announced that they have given a green signal to the onshore assessment procedures.
As per the available information, after this verdict, most of the progressive Australians believed that this was the most important and positive step taken by the country’s government Officials.
However, both the region’s chief parties are accusing each other for the failure in passing the recommended alteration regarding to the highlighted act controversy.
Meanwhile, the government Officials stated that soon they would also be considering the migrated people to be taken out of the imprisonment centers and they will be asked to be a part of the community, so that they could live a normal life.
Moreover, most of the Officials strongly believed that the main reason behind the success of these judgments was that from a long time the country’s renowned activists and the encouragement given by the Australian Greens Officials tried their level best to achieve their desired targets.
In the meantime, the Greens Officials also believed that with the passage of time, the government will also rapidly execute all the required changes, which would certainly create a long-term difference to how the detention centers function.
Sharing his views about these judgments, Andrew Metcalfe, Immigration Department Secretary said that from a long time, the detention issue has remained untouched but the current verdict has certainly proved to be a boon for all the migrated people.
He added, “In managing this issue, the department does not engage in any philosophical debate. We are professional public servants who are working hard to serve the government of the day, doing the best we can in, at times, very challenging environments”.
