In a recent walk organized for raising funds for people suffering from cystic fibrosis, the participants all wore red to support the cause. They were here to raise funds for the 850 families, whose lives have been disrupted due to their family member, suffering from this disease.
The name of the walk was 'he Great Striders Walk and they up to the South of the Sunshine Coast, for the annual walk.
There were about 40 walkers who participated in this event. It was a walk to the Kings Beach and Back.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Hooker Caloundra, from the Business Broking and Kawana waters office.
"Cystic Fibrosis Queensland has faced tough times in the past 12 months due to wider economic impacts, including the loss of its Sunshine Coast-based operations centre, so that made this event more important than ever", revealed s. Julie Walton, the organizer for this fundraising and awareness event.
The funds were forwarded to the families in need. The event also included awareness program, and facilities for the recreation and counseling of people. They also provided for home support services.
There was also the sale of 'I love Caloundra and 'I love Sunshine coast' T-shirts for the purpose of fundraising.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that is adversely affecting the children of Australia. There is need for effective control of the disease, so that it can be controlled before it turns out to be a major outbreak.
