In a recent research, a group of researchers from Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, has applauded a naturally occurring compound `nicoinamide mononucleotide', for its marvelous attributes for treating as well as preventing diabetes. During the study, they have observed that a group of diabetic mice treated with NMN have retained normal blood sugar metabolism.
While explaining the study findings, one of the research authors claimed to acknowledge normal glucose tolerance among female diabetic mice when treated with NMN. "In males, we see a milder effect compared to females, but we still see an effect. These are really remarkable results. NMN improves diabetic symptoms, at least in mice", he notified further.
Experts have expressed confidence that the study findings will be used to develop body synthesized compound as a daily vitamin in order to cure and avoid incidents of deadly Type 2 diabetes. However, the compound had reflected mild impacts on male mice as compared to female, notified an Associate Professor of Developmental Biology, Shin-ichiro Imai.
In addition, he emphasized on the need of more research work to evaluate the impacts of compound on people living with diabetes, a severe health condition that tends to affect millions of people all over the world.
