Pharmacy Guild and Blackmores Deal Cancelled

PharmacyIt has been revealed that after criticism lashed out on the issue, there has been an agreement between the Pharmacy Guide of Australia and Blackmores. This shall be for a collective relief from the consumer as well as professional groups.

It was revealed by the NPS that they are pleased with the cancellation of the Gold Cross endorsement of complimentary medicines from the Companion’s rage from Blackmore.

According to that agreement, the pharmacists would be able to receive prompts on the computer about some specific products from Blackmores, besides the prescription drugs.

There were a lot of speculative responses due to this deal. It wasn’t acceptable to the doctors as well as patients, who were of the view that this deal could mean faults in the clinical decisions of the pharmacists.

It is essential that there is good relationship between the pharmacists and the medical team because in emergency cases, there is need for quick reaction by the pharmacists. In this case, if he/she is inclined towards one particular line of products, there might be undue injustice done to the health of the patients.

“I think what's really disappointing here is that the guild has not acknowledged that they've made a mistake. Rather what they've said is that they've bowed to public pressure”, said Richard Di Natale.
