Also, Barunga resident Peter Amarant has been selected to participate in the Marathon in New York. The coach, Robert de Castellany launched the project 3 years ago, and he wanted some athletes of Australia to participate in the marathon so as to spread awareness about healthy life.

The marathon will witness the majority of participants from Africa.

As per de Castella, "I believe our indigenous youth has as much natural talent as African kids when it comes to running, and a long-term ambition is to find a couple to take on the Africans at their own game”.

Also, Amarant reveals that he aspires to do a lot for Australia through this marathon. He also stated that he did not have knowledge about marathon, but he gradually understood the concept, the diet, the energy required and now, he is very passionate about it.
