In a collaborative effort, Indian units of US-based Eli Lilly and German drugmaker Boehringer Ingelheim have come together to showcase their portfolio of diabetes products. It’s being claimed that the joint effort would bring out Lilly’s expertise in diabetes and Ingelheim’s innovative late-stage pipeline on a single platform.
While expectations are high on how Indian market would respond to the products, it’s being confirmed that Eli Lilly is quite positive about the venture and even its president has confirmed the same.
Moreover, both the companies would be making their best efforts to promote the products in the best possible manner and for that a special sales team has been created.
Confirming the same, a spokesperson from the Lilly said: “Our product humalog will also be promoted by Ingelheim’s sales force, and vice versa with respect to their product linagliptin”.
As of now, Lilly India has a taskforce of 200, but the number would surely escalate in the time to come.
Though Linagliptin has been recognized in the American market, hopes are high that the same response could be generated in India as well.
While the news is hitting the contours of the market, the alliance is being seen in a positive manner and perhaps the first ever to instigate positivity in the field of pharma market.
