An Indian revenue delegation visited Dubai Customs headquarters at Port Rashid in order to enhance cooperation between both countries. The delegation headed by Revenue Intelligence Director General R S Sidhu, held meeting with his counterparts discussing various methods for taking their relations at new heights.
The meeting held under the ERTIBAT program that was launched for communicating foreign business councils and trade attaches affiliated to diplomatic missions in Dubai. The delegation was received by Ahmed Butti Ahmed, the Executive Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Dubai Customs Director General.
Backing strong relation between two nations, Ahmed Butti acknowledged that India is a top trade partner of UAE as their mutual trade increased to 87.2 billion dirhams, reporting 50 per cent increase during January-May, 2011.
He added, "Imports had the biggest share with a value of 41.3 billion dirhams, whereas exports valued at over 16 billion dirhams and re-exports 29.8 billion dirhams,"
Sidhu also hailed the efforts of Dubai Customs for adopting innovating and transparent policies for facilitating legitimate movement of goods between two sides.
