This year three renowned scientists, Bruce Beutler, Hoffmann and Ralph Steinman, have been awarded with Nobel Prize for making a difference in the scientific world through their study over understanding the way one's body fights against infection.

Bruce Beutler and Hoffmann hail from the US and Ralph Steinman is from Canada. It was founded by Bruce Beutler as to how the defense mechanism immunity system of a person activates and deactivates. Ralph Steinman intensified the glory of the findings of Bruce Beutler by discovering the dendritic cell which played vital role in defeating infection spreading germs.

The findings of the researchers have helped in creating advanced drugs for strengthening the immunity system. It is hoped that their findings will pave way for the invention of drugs to fight lethal tumors located in various parts of our body.

These scientists for a long time have been working towards understanding the way immunity system works. It is hoped that their findings will revolutionize the scientific field. Since 1901, Nobel Prizes for medicines have been given every year. The word "Nobel" has been derived from the name of Alfred Nobel who was a dynamite inventor and businessman.
