Calling for immediate support to flood ridden Pakistan, Senate Chairman Farooq H Naek on Saturday urged all the Emirates and welfare organizations to be instrumental in relief operations in the country for bringing respite for flood victims facing hardships due to natural calamity. He urged them to contribute generously in the Flood Relief Fund for the sake of brothers and sisters in the hours of trial and tribulations.
While addressing a large gathering at a “Flood Donation” event arranged by the Pakistan United Forum in Dubai, he urged all expatriate Pakistanis to contribute in this noble cause. He tanked senators for contributing Rs15 million in the “Senate Emergency Relief Fund” A/c No. 01-200-1321-5 that encouraged the Chamber of Commerce to issue matching grant.
He assured that relief would be provided to all affected people irrespective of cast, religion or creed and entire relief operations would be overseen by him and his team directly.
Naek said, “We are proud to be Pakistanis and are united under the green flag as an independent and sovereign nation and it is a matter of great satisfaction and pride that today all political workers from the leading political parties are here and have joined their hands for this noble cause.”
