It seems like debate is on between the ambulance union and Premiere Anna Bligh. We are talking about the practice of ramping ambulances with patients aboard, which according to Ms. Bligh is a simple fact of life but the union does not agree with Ms. Bligh.
By the term ramping, we mean the practice under which ambulances carrying patients are made to wait outside the hospitals until the patient is admitted.
Queensland hospitals is among the state's biggest hospitals but the facility was in chaos yesterday as approximately 18 ambulances carrying patients were parked outside the hospital, waiting to get patients admitted but saw long delay due to shortage of beds.
Worst situation was that some of the patients had to wait for more than five-hours outside the hospital prior to getting admission at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Regarding the situation, the ambulance union said that practice of ramping has become a major concern today and necessitates concerned authority to take early action upon the same. On the other hand, Ms. Bligh had some different statements to make.
"There is no hospital in the world where every emergency patient can be seen without some of them having to wait", told Ms. Bligh.
