The Government of Fujairah has entered into a deal with the Majid Al Futtaim Group, to build a City Centre mall and retail park in the city.

Under the arrangement, the two groups will work together to develop the latest City Centre shopping mall to be developed in the UAE.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2011.

Mohamad Saeed al-Dhanhani, Emiri court director, stated during the press conference that "We chose Majid Al Futtaim Group because of its track record in creating retail and leisure destinations that understand customers and become part of everyday life.

He further quoted that "Their reputation for delivering the highest standards of quality and excellence makes them the perfect partner to build our shopping centre."

"We look forward to working with them (government) to create an exciting destination where people will come together to meet, eat, shop, relax and be entertained with family and friends," Mohamad Saeed Said.
