A fresh report via media website AppleInsider suggests that Apple will introduce a UMTS/CDMA hybrid iPhone in the third quarter of next year.
As per report, the new ‘hybrid iPhone’ will be compatible with both the GSM/UMTS as well as the CDMA technology.
The new iPhone will be smaller than the existing iPhone. The ‘World-mode’ phone will have a 2.8-inch screen i.e. nearly 20 per cent smaller than the screen on the current iPhone.
If the report is correct, the potential iPhone will be crafted by Taiwan-based Asustek subsidiary Pegatron.
Apple’s new iPhone could work on Verizon Wireless in case Apple does not renew its exclusive US deal with AT&T.
