Drivers need not to worry about technical or mechanical malfunctions of vehicles while on road as Abu Dhabi officially introduced the new Road Service Patrol that would offer round the clock service to the drivers in case of any exigency.

This new initiative of the Department of Transport (DoT) would also prove boon for drivers who meet with road mishaps that sometimes prove fatal. The move is in line with the driver friendly policy of DoT under which it offers support to drivers in case of any requirement. The department has rolled out a number of services and provided best road infrastructure facilities in the country.

The new Road Service Patrol, launched in coordination with Abu Dhabi Police would offer a variety of need based services to the drivers in addition to ensure smooth traffic flow on roads. Patrol would equipped with services such as changing tyres, identifying exhausted battery, jumpstarting and topping up fuel and coolant besides a vehicle-mounted Variable Message Sign (VMS).

Faisal Ahmed Al Suwaidi, General Director of Main Roads at the DoT, said, "Abu Dhabi is witnessing growth in all areas and sectors which necessitates providing quality traffic and road services to residents and citizens while ensuring the highest safety measures. The new service falls in line with the Department of Transport's overall strategy and the Surface Transport Master Plan (STMP) aimed at developing road infrastructure in Abu Dhabi."
