Pakistan's National Assembly Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza who is on her official trip to United Arab Emirates has hailed the involvement of UAE government in Federal National Council elections.
She earlier held a meeting with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research discussing a wide range of issues. He hailed women participation in the poll terming it as a positive sign both for Pakistan and the UAE.
She had kind words for President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who supported Pakistan, both financially and morally, in the wake of crisis. She said that the UAE's assistance to Pakistani people reflects strong bonds between two nations that become stronger with the passage of time.
Meanwhile, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, and visiting US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns Thursday held a meeting, discussing various regional and international issues, especially concerning to peace, stability and security of the region.
Both sides expressed commitment to further strengthen their commercial and diplomatic ties.
