There is a good news for chocolate lovers as chocolate consumptions help cut down the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke and that too by 37 per cent, 31 per cent and 29 per cent, respectively.
About seven studies that had analyzed over 114,000 people were taken into consideration by scientists at the University of Cambridge in the UK.
Dark chocolate, milk bars, chocolate snacks and chocolate drinks were looked at by scientists.
Earlier studies have also thrown light on having a positive impact on heart health of various cocoa and cacao products.
There was a clear link between a reduced risk of diabetes, stroke and cardiovascular diseases, as stated by the Cambridge analysis.
World Health Organization has estimated that by 2030 there will be 23.6 million people dying from heart disease and stroke.
Lead author, Dr Oscar Franco, from the Department of Public Health and Primary Care, said, "Chocolate may be beneficial, but it should be eaten in a moderate way, not in large quantities and not in binges. If it is consumed in large quantities, any beneficial effect is going to disappear.
