The former Pakistan fast blower Wasim Akram's wife Huma Akram has been buried in Lahore on Monday. The 42-year old Huma had died due to a multiple-organ failure on Sunday.
Hundreds of people including Saeed Anwar, Ijaz Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed and Moin Khan were present in her funeral to pay tribute. Anwar led the funeral prayers of Huma.
Huma was suffering from sepsis, a disease in which the tissues of the body and blood are affected leading to renal failure. Huma was operated in Chennai for five days before she lost her battle with life on Sunday.
Huma and Akram had met each other in 1986 in college and they got married in 1991. Huma was a trained psychotherapist and she also worked as psychological counselor of the Pakistan team during Wasim's captaincy.
Wasim said that he requests all his fans to pray for him so that he could live without his wife and take care of his kids. Huma has left behind two sons, Akbar and Taimur.
