UAE has drawn elaborated plans for addressing the labor and skilled work force problem in the region and promised every possible measure for bringing discipline in the job market. The ministry of labour has announced to establish six new centers near workers’ residential areas in line with its policy to address the needs of labours.
The proposed centers will come up in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah this year while others in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman and Fujeirah in 2012-2013. The new centers for labours will raise the total center’s number to 12 which are established by the ministry of labour through the UAE for helping the labor class.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah already have such centers launched in 2009. Qassim Jameel, director of the ministry’s guidance section, said that new centers will bring workers close to the ministries services.
He added,“ These units play a very important role in building bridges of contacts between the ministry and workers and help us improve our services to them…they also allow us to explain labour rules to these workers to create more awareness among them about existing laws and their duties and obligations.”
