Breast cancer risk reduced among walnut eaters

walnutsIf you eat walnuts then you can stay free of worrying about getting breast cancer as a new research has stated that women who consume walnuts have a reduced a risk of getting breast cancer.

It was seen in mice that after eating walnuts the chances of developing breast cancer were decreased to a great extent and this shows that walnuts do have an effect on breast cancer.

As compared to mice that were getting standard diet, mice who consumed walnuts in their diet had lesser chances of being affected by breast cancer at both stages and that too by 50 per cent.

Even if breast cancer was developed then the size of the tumour was small.

Elaine Hardman, study leader, said, “These reductions are particularly important when you consider that the mice were genetically programmed to develop cancer at a high rate. We were able to reduce the risk for cancer even in the presence of a pre-existing genetic mutation.”

It was also added by another study that was conducted recently that the risk of developing a heart disease was much lower among people who ate chocolate as compared to those who restrained from chocolate.
