Eying on hosting the 2024 Olympic Games, sports officials are mooting a bid to host the Youth Olympics. The National Olympic Committee (Noc) hoped that their effective management would definitely strengthen its bid for the mega sports event in 2024.
Saeed Abdul Ghaffar, the secretary general of the Noc said that it would be a testing time for the nation to showcase its strengths to host such big sports events. He hoped that their effective management would definitely inspire judge to recommend his country's name.
He added, "It will be an added value for our bid and a credit to the country to do something like that. In addition, it would be like a rehearsal for the country before the summer Olympics, to see how we can manage."
The inaugural Youth Olympics was held in Singapore while 2014's Youth Olympics are scheduled to be held in Nanjing, China.
Ghaffar said that authorities are finalizing the bids and more big sized games such as the Asian Games and School Olympics are also in the NOC's radar and negotiations are going on for prospective bids.
