Road mishaps claims many lives

Road accidents claimed lives of four people and left six other injured in three major road accidents that took place on different roads of national capital on the auspicious occasion of Eid. One accident took place barriers near Al Mafraq bridge killing two persons on the spot while two other persons sustained injuries and immediately rushed to Al Mafraq hospital.

Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Beloushi, director of the External Roads Section in the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrol Department added that reckless driving in poor weather conditions led to the accident. He urged drivers to drive with care in inclement weather conditions in order to avoid accidents. He told, "The accident occurred due to speeding in thick fog. An Emirati and a Yemeni died while two others were injured," said.

Meanwhile, in yet another mishap, an Indian lost his life due to a three-vehicle collision on the road from Al Marfaa towards Tarif while four other suffered injuries. A man was also killed when his car hit a light post in Al Ain's Al Salamat region.
