Virginia Department of Health Uncovers New Regulation Draft for Abortion

Virginia Department of Health Uncovers New Regulation Draft for Abortion Last year, a bill was passed by the General Assembly stating that the concerned department must get some new changes to the abortion clinic guidelines. Following the same bill, the Virginia Department of Health this weekend had released a new draft over the regulations, which will soon be getting effect statewide.

But, not all are supporting the new bill, and thus, a big abortion debate has started between the advocates of both the sides. According to reports, new regulations have demanded a change in the way the abortion clinics operate, and also to make abortion clinics work as well as look like the other hospitals in the region.

In context to same, anti-abortion advocates are stating that the main agenda and the primary focus of the bill is to keep women cent-percent safe, but people favoring the abortion rights are stating that safety of women is merely highlighting from the bill.

Regarding the situation, Ms. Christina Hampton of 40 Days for Life Charolottesville, while supporting the anti-abortion advocates, said that getting aborted is inherently unsafe for every women and thus anti-abortion advocates urging to get new statewide regulations for clinics to perform the procedure is not at all wrong.

"If you are for women's safety, then you would want to make sure these places where the procedures are being done are as safe as possible", Hampton explained.
