Saudi Electricity has entered into a deal with Saudi firm, Arabian Bemco Contracting and Korean company Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction for a $1.84 billion power project.
The scope of the project involves transforming a gas-powered plant into a combined-cycle facility and adding 1,241 megawatts of power to a plant in al-Qurayyah, the largest utility in the Gulf by market value.
The project has been scheduled to become operational before June 2014.
