A recent business survey released by the telecommunication watchdog, the Telecommunication Regulatory Agency or TRA claims that a large number of firms are satisfied with the kind of services being offered by UAE based telecommunication firms.
The ICT Business Survey 2011shows that around 87 per cent firms are happy with quality of services while 54 per cent people complained about service providers.
The ICT Business Survey is aimed to feel the pulse of business community in order to find way outs for the hurdles in better telecommunication service delivery. Use of information technology tools by the businesses in the UAE was also analyzed in the survey.
Multiple services such as fixed telephony, mobile telephony, Internet, advance telecommunication services and e-commerce were analyzed by the expert groups.
More than 1,500 businesses answered quarries on telecom operators out of which 83 per cent expressed satisfaction with the internet services. The Director General of the TRA, Mohamed Al Ghanim said, "The provision of accurate and timely ICT information provides an important input into the overall assessment of the sector in the UAE, and is therefore key to the effective and efficient functioning of this sector."
