A Synthetic Compound Will Promote Body’s Natural Antioxidant Defenses, Claims ResearcherRecently, a researcher from the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Dr. Aaron Micallef, has claimed to make a synthetic compound, as an attempt to promote the body’s natural antioxidant defenses, neutralizing harmful free radicals and fighting the onset of associated diseases including heart disease and arthritis.

“Eating foods rich in antioxidants can help mop up damaging free radicals in the body. It means we are taking the guilt out of pleasures such as red wine and chocolate”, he notified. “Free radicals are implicated in many processes in the body, such as inflammation, ageing and cancer. They can be very damaging, but we are conducting research into how we can use antioxidants to neutralize free radicals and prevent this damage”.

While briefing about the study, Dr. Micallef has expressed confidence that the synthetic compound will significantly boost the body's natural antioxidant defenses.

In addition, Dr. Micallef is scheduled to explain the research as part of a wine and chocolate tasting event at the Queensland Museum at South Bank, August 26, on the observance of National Science Week. In addition, he will be briefing about antioxidants, wine and chocolate as well as their relationship to his AIBN research.
