In the latest high profile visit by regional Arab dignitaries to Iraq, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi was welcomed by Iraq’s PM.
It was reported by Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is also the deputy commander of the United Arab Emirates’ that his visit aims at building and strengthening friendly ties between the two countries.
Along with Al Nahyan, the delegation, which arrived on Tuesday, also included the federation's defense and interior ministers.
The visit has indicated towards one thing for sure, that ties that were damaged during Saddam Hussein's rule and the U.S.-led war are now being healed by the Iraq’s Arab neighbors.
After Saddam’s fall, the Sunni-ruled United Arab Emirates has become the first Gulf country to inform that it is sending an ambassador to Iraq.
