The Relay for Life Team sponsored by David Aho Construction has contributed more than $5,600 for the American Cancer Society this year. During past few months, enthusiastic members toiled hard for fundraising through organizing various events including the annual quilt raffle.
During a Thursday night meet at the Williston Community Library, group's Chairperson Donnette Taylor notified that the Upper Missouri Relay for Life credited a hat-trick with first position in its 12-state region, raising $202,712 and some change. Further, the chairperson has notified that was an all-time high amount rose in the Williston area where the team easily exceeded the goal of $186,000.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old Mr. Organ has expressed enthusiasm to encourage people to involve with the annual event along with teams of families, friends and workmates. Mr. Organ was diagnosed with myeloma, a form of leukemia, in December 2009.
"When you see how many people are out there who have had some of the worst cancers imaginable and they are walking around healthily - it's a great incentive”, said Mr. Organ.
“It's a fantastic cause because it's all about celebrating life, and that there is life after cancer”, he added.
