Senegal’s Suggestion to Combat Malaria

A recent observation held by Senegal researchers have found that spread of malaria could be prevented by using mosquito repellent together with use of insecticides. Many regions of Africa have been fighting with the malaria spreading mosquitoes for last few years.

For the observation, the researchers analyzed the usefulness of bed nets, which were introduced in 2008 in the central village of Dielmo.

However, before conducting the observation, the researchers examined more than 500 villagers for sickness from malaria and studied local populations of mosquitoes.

The researchers found that from August 2008 to 2010, incidence of malaria fell dramatically by 8%.

However in 2011, the incidents of malaria increased significantly.

It has been informed that mostly children and elders are infected by the disease. Following the increase in the malaria cases the Senegal researchers have suggested that the mosquito repellent should be used with insecticides to avoid being affected by the malaria spreading mosquitoes.

The observation is viewed by the medical experts as a small study. It has been recommended that further study should be conducted so that much effective measures could be brought to fight with the growing menace of malaria in the regions of Africa.
