According to reports, British Telecommunications (BT) recently announced that soon they would be appointing 70 extra workers in Western Australian.
On the other hand, Lisa Altman, BT Australasia's Health Practice Director, quoted that in order to improve the communication across the Fiona Stanley campus buildings, the organization would also be fixing up a fixed Local Area Network (LAN) services.
However, the official’s also proclaimed that the main agenda behind this announcement was to secure a major telecommunication services contract that was signed for the state of the art at Fiona Stanley Hospital which was supposed to be releasing by 2014.
In the meantime, the officials too asserted that for the new hospital renovation plan, offered by the Western Australia, hospital authorities, BT officials were selected by services company Serco to install and administer the hospital’s IT and communications infrastructure.
Meanwhile, talking on the same issue, Paul Miglorini, BT Australasian Managing Director, asserted that in the international figures, the organization’s IT sector has commendably marked its strong presence.
He added, "We've been working on developing the healthcare sector for BT in Australia for now coming up to three years and the Fiona Stanley contract is the first major contract, so it's very much a milestone contract for us. It's something that we're very excited about”.
