The department of radiation oncology at Ruby Hall Clinic Cancer Centre along with the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) is organizing a meet on the Radiotherapy Update 2011 on August 13.
The main issue to be discussed at the two day conference meet will be the promising developments in the radiation oncology. The Chief Radiation Oncologist, Sumeet Basu has revealed that with the establishment of new radiation centres in the country.
In addition, he claimed that informing and training people about the aspect of technology was the responsibility of developed centres.
More than 300 delegates will be attending the conference, where some infamous national and international speakers will give presentation on the various features of the oncology.
The motive is to emphasize the upcoming trends in the field.
The students of various oncological institutes will receive the major benefit from this conference as major aspects related to the subject will be discussed by experts in this Continuous Medical Education (CME) programme.
Mr. Basu further stated that the programme was authenticated by the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
VK Sathiyanarayanan, the Chief Medical Physicist stated that "The treatment of cancer is becoming more and more targeted with the aim of causing maximum damage to the cancerous cells while protecting the normal cells from the potential cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy”.
Therefore, the conference will discuss the treatment-related aspects.
