Exercise a Must for Cancer Patients

Exercise a Must for Cancer PatientsProper care after going through a cancer surgery is a must for the cancer patients. However, it has come to light that many hospital specialists fail to keep a health record of the cancer patients soon after conducting surgery on them.

The revelation was made by an organization after conducting a survey over GPs, practice nurses, oncologists and cancer nurses. During the survey, it was found that only 44% of the hospitals were maintaining a record of the health of the cancer patients who underwent treatment at their hospitals. It has been postulated that exercising after undergoing cancer treatment can help patients in overcoming fatigue, depression, osteoporosis and heart disease. The Bournemouth hospital has excelled in providing care to its cancer patients. It has been reported that the hospital runs an activity cum program which enables the patients to take part in and the specialists are given the opportunity to access the health improvements in the patients.

Besides, such activities also give chance to the patients to interact with their doctors. Chief Executive Ciaran Devane said, "Cancer patients would be shocked if they knew just how much of a benefit physical activity could have on their recovery and long term health, in some cases reducing their chances of having to go through the grueling ordeal of treatment all over again".
