Narellan Road Improvement Project to Start by Next Year

Duncan-GayThe NSW Roads Minister, Duncan Gay, announces that the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) will complete its investigation on the improvement of the overcrowded Narellan Road, by the end of this year.

The proposal of improving the Narellan road was already being delayed to which Camden State Liberal MP Chris Patterson, appealed to start with the project in the beginning of the next year. As per Mr. Duncan Gay, “In line with the NSW Government’s pre-election promise to provide $15.4 million to improve traffic access from Camden Valley Way to the F5 freeway, the RTA has started investigating an upgrade of Narellan Rd”.

The Narellan road is the main route that is accessed by the people residing in the southwest area. According to reports in the Chronicle, the drivers travelling from Camden to Campbelltown took 20 km of extra travelling through the Menangle road so as to avoid the traffic-jam at the Narellan road.

The Mayor of Camdem, Greg Warren, appreciated the road improvement project for the Narellan road, but he was unhappy with the delay in the commencement of the project. The development at the Narellan road will provide a reach out to the TAFE and University of Western Sydney campus.
