Saudi Arabia bags ACC U-19 championship

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait fought a low-scoring final on Saturday defeating Kuwait and bagging the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Challenge Cup.

Saudi Arabia has already won the title twice and the team was enthusiastic to bag it third time at the ACC U-19 Elite Cup to be held in 2013.

The match could be postponed as rained hampered the arrangements during the initial hours. Later, the weather improved and the umpire gave green signal for the match.
Saudi Arabia won the toss and match started amid hopes of success among players and well-wishers among both sides. Emad Uddin took two wickets, Faheem Afrad three, Zubaid Ahmed two and one each for Imtiaz Khan and Akram Aslam, Saudi Arabia bowled Kuwait out for 125 runs in 35.3 high voltages over.

The Kuwaiti players also made a strong debut without losing heart due to early jerks. The players gave a tough battle as they took early wickets and finally made Saudi Arabia losing 3 wickets, slumping to 96 for 6.

Meanwhile, the top performer Zubaid Ahmed was declared man of the match given to his outstanding all-round performance in the final.
