Get EHIC Before Leaving For a Trip

A recent report reveals that there could be a heavy risk of huge medical bills to the credit of the people of the vicinity, if they don’t get their medical insurances renewed in time.

It has been revealed that people don’t really know the actual meaning of this policy that can work for their benefit. Less than half the population is aware of what it is. Most people are of the view that it is merely a replacement of the travel insurance. The truth is that this new scheme would give one an access to free or reduced bills for the medical treatments they avail in any EEA or EU country.

It has under its cover, only those states that provide medical treatment to the people of the vicinity, and it is not free most of the times.

Bob Atkinson from moneysupermarket. com says: “The EHIC only offers relatively low level access to medical treatment. The cost for accidents, extensive treatment and repatriation home will not be covered and these can run into the thousands”. There is an appeal made by the authorities that all people should get this so5t of insurance renewed before they plan a trip anywhere.
