According to the biosecurity, Queensland has reported that another horse died because of Hendra virus. The horse died at night at the property of Park Ridge, south of Brisbane.
Authorities said that they are still waiting for the test which confirms that the horse died of the Hendra virus. Another horse at Boonah, south-west of Brisbane was tested for the Hendra virus and the results were positive.
Last week, another horse died of this deadly virus in Wollongbar in northern New South Wales.
It was reported that the people who came into the contact of the dead horse are the owner and the vet who tried to treat the horse and now they are kept under observation of the doctors.
The doctors will perform some tests on them to check whether are suffering from this virus too as this virus can spread from horse to human but not from human to human.
Dr. Roth who was treating the ill horse said: "The horse was showing the classic symptoms of respiratory distress and neural distress. There was only one other horse on the property and it is being tested and will continue to be tested for some time."
The horse had been in a paddock containing a fig tree, so it is likely that flying foxes were the source of infection.
