Chief Medical Officer at Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston has revealed that obesity among young and middle-aged people has pushed the rate of type-2 diabetes. There are many nations fighting against obesity but they haven’t been able to control it so far.
It has been revealed that obese people who contract type-2 diabetes are at greater risk of getting health complications. Ann Albright, Director of the CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation said, “The longer you live with the disease, the more likely you are to develop the complications. If you develop diabetes at a young age, the chances are greater of complications at a younger age”.
Young people with diabetes are being warned that if they don’t take care of their health at an earlier stage then there are possibilities that due to their health conditions they will be denied of jobs. A report has revealed that about
2.5 million people in the UK have are diagnosed of Type 2 diabetes because of the obesity and unhealthy lifestyles.
However, there is a million who may have the condition without knowing it. The report highlights that youngsters and those in their 20s, 30s and 40s are at dangerously high risk of serious problems, including kidney failure and stroke.
