British Study Recommends Special Diet for Eight Weeks as Cure of Type 2 Diabetes

A recent study by British researchers has called people to kill their “favorite” diet in order to get a solution for Type 2 diabetes. After studying 11 patients who had developed diabetes later in life and who had had it for several years, with an average weight of 220 pounds at the beginning of the study, the team led by Roy Taylor, Head of the magnetic resonance imaging unit at Newcastle University in Britain, claimed that consuming a special diet drink and non-starchy vegetables, such as broccoli, asparagus and cabbage for eight weeks can prove out to be a cure for Type 2 diabetic patients.

Moreover, the team claimed that as compared to 8% level of fat found after conducting MRI scans of patient’s pancreases, only 6% of the fat was found post-study, reinforcing their initial assumption.

If reports are to be believed, almost 25 million Americans are diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, even then medical experts recommend people to take second opinion before jumping on this 600-calorie diet.

Moreover, Taylor claimed, "We believe that this shows that Type 2 diabetes is all about energy balance in the body”, and further added, “What we need to examine further is why some people are more susceptible to developing diabetes than others”.
