Breastfeeding Session to Be Held

Breastfeeding Session to Be HeldIn a pursuit of spreading awareness about the health benefits of breast feeding, the care workers of NHS will be attending the Mayflower Retail Park store till Friday. However, tonight they will be holding a breastfeeding session at the store, between 6pm and 8pm.

The campaign is focused upon helping mums who struggle to feed their kids. Some mums find it painful or difficult to get the baby to latch on; therefore, a support network is the need of the hour. It is being run by the Gloucestershire Breastfeeding Supporters' Network (GBSN) with support from NHS Gloucestershire. The motto of the campaign is “Breast is best”.

During the campaign, the mums will be taught the right techniques of feeding babies and the right position to hold them so that the baby could reach the breast. The campaign is being held for many years and till now it has encouraged 81% women to go for breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding has been linked with improved health of the kids. Mum’s milk helps in making the immunity system of the infant stronger. It has been revealed that by breastfeeding an infant, the relationship between mother and infant becomes stronger.
