South Australian government is now all set to ban the synthetic cannabis, which is a drug made from the hemp plant. Synthetic cannabis will now soon be banned in South Australia, after having considered the calls from doctors and the reports of the users who have now been hospitalized after they had consumed the synthetic cannabis, as stated by the government officials.
Reportedly the substance was legally being sold under the product names such as Kronic, Spice and Northern Lights, which was later found to have the effects similar to natural cannabis, notably causing serious health problems. Considering the health concerns and following the reports from doctors that informed the substance to have serious health problems, the South Australian government has for now immediately made its plans to ban synthetic cannabis in the country.
Attorney-General John Rau said, "I am not only concerned about the harmful health effects of these products, but also the possibility that users are driving under their influence, posing a serious danger to themselves and others"
The severe punishments have also been announced in case anyone is found either consuming or carrying the substance for sale. The government has for now verbally announced to make the ban legalized with penalties up to $10,000 or two years' jail.
