It has been revealed, in a recent report, that there is a strong link between a high-carbohydrate diet and risk of cancer. This is one startling revelation that brings many implications with itself.
The report is of the view that those people who have a high-carb diet, are exposed to a greater risk to cancer whereas those who eat low–carb foods, are at a lower risk of the disease and also the existing tumors of a person would have a slow growth, as a result of this sort of food habits.
"On the Western diet, half of the mice had tumors by middle age. On the low-carb diet, none of the mice had the tumors”, said Dr. Gerry Krystal, who authored the study along with colleague Dr Vincent Ho.
If this experiment conducted on ice is to have close relation with humans, then it means that one should maintain a healthy diet chart with fewer carbohydrates and more of proteins and vitamins and fiber. Regular exercise and a healthy diet schedule is a good way to maintain the best of health and figure.
The western diet is very rich in carbohydrates and this is something that needs to be controlled by the people because it is one of the major causes for diseases.
