New Vaccines after Drop in Immunization

New Vaccines after Drop in ImmunizationIt has been revealed by the authorities of the WA health department that with the rise in last year program for vaccination against flu, there has been a major drop in the numbers of people coming to get immunized.

The use of the Fluvax vaccine had been banned by the authorities last year, for the children below the age of 5 years. This was done because the kids suffered from a number of side effects such as vomiting, convulsions and high fever.

The response of the WA researchers was to look for two possible alternatives for the vaccines. They were keen on Influvac and Vaxigrip. It was found that these were less reactive and there were as a many as 50% less side effects suffered by the children, that they had suffered from Fluvax. It is essential to look for better alternatives that serve the purpose well, while being safe and secure for the sue of children.

"The two vaccines that we are using this year we know are safe so we would urge parents to consider getting their children vaccinated and to let them know that the evidence is that these vaccines are very safe”, said Health Department's Paul Armstrong.
