Newborn babies may be at risk of over exposure to radiation which may lead to complications. In 2007, State University doctors discovered that hospital staff was not taking required precautions and over radiating pre mature babies. Some staff workers were not shielding the new born babies properly.
It is up to each state to set the certain allowance of radiation, however, some states have not provided a limit. This is why the American Society of Radiologic Technologist has proposed the CARE bill which would support over half a million American health care professionals.
Those who are exposed to repeated radiation have an increased risk of cancer. New born babies are even more vulnerable and concerns for them are even higher. There are also lists of other effects radiation can have on a person. These effects include: nausea, fatigue, low blood count, along with several other effects.
Experts are suggesting that the more radiation a person receives, the higher their chances of cancer. Unnecessary exposure to radiation can be prevented. People who believe medical staff has exposed their child to repeated radiation should file a complaint. They may be entitled to a birth injury lawsuit which will help them cover current or future expenses due to medical staff negligence.
