Cardiff’s Race for Life is all set to take place tomorrow, in which hundreds of women will run, walk or jog to raise money for cancer research and support. The vent will be first of Cardiff’s three Race for Life events.
Michelle Clarke, who set up the group, which meets once a month at the Wales Millennium Centre (WMC), said that Cardiff is in its 17th year and due to its popularity the city has a 10k event on Saturday, July 2 and a 5k event on the next day.
Organizers of the event have urged the families, schools and work colleagues to be a part of the vent and make it the best event of the year. The run is carried out with an aim to raise £1m for Cancer Research UK.
The funds will be utilized to help and support cancer patients and their families across the nation. The event will also raise awareness among the people about the symptoms and treatment of the deadly disease. The charity has advised the cancer patients to undergo early screening and treatment so that more lives could be saved.
