Lingfield Racecourse to Welcome Race for LifeFirst time in the history of Race for Life, it will be taking place at Lingfield Racecourse. The organizers of the event are hoping to get involved about one million women in the event. In UK, in every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer. It is hoped that the event will help in raising awareness about the cancer among people. The event will include 5km walking or jogging course to raise money.

Race for life is the largest women-only fundraising event for cancer patients are research related to cancer. The cast from The Naked Truth, including Coronation Street’s Nikki Sanderson, has urged women to sign up for this year’s Race for Life to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The event is being held for 17 years all over the world. In the last 17 years, the event has managed to stump up a staggering £362 million to fund the work of over 4,000 researchers, doctors and nurses dedicated to helping more people beat cancer.

Paul Shrimpton, Managing Director of the Racecourse said: "Cancer Research UK is a cause which is close to the hearts of many people as so many of our family and friends are touched by this dreadful disease”. Shrimpton has requested women to participate in the event and help in raising awareness.
