The recent reports claiming that some special agents were hatching conspiracy to bomb Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building, have been denied by a UAE official.
On Tuesday, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, said: "These claims are unfounded and completely false and the news is completely fabricated."
He further stressed that Burj Dubai, which is still under construction, was safe and there were no such plots to bomb it. He said: "If anything like this took place then I would have informed you."
Recently, Israel's Maariv newspaper had published a report claiming that it had solid information from western sources that "the Iranian Revolutionary Guards plotted to blow up Burj Dubai and that eight people, including Syrians and Palestinians, had been brought in for questioning two months ago."
When a source from the Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi was contacted, he denied having any information regarding the matter. He said that there was no information in this regard because there is actually nothing like this happening.
