MP’s life saved by another MP

Guy Opperman MP was not feeling fine when he experienced a real bad headache and started to be sick in the Commons. He knew that the day is not going to be easy for him.

Guy was being helped out of the Parliament after he fell ill in a toilet near the debating chamber as he wanted to head home but before he could do so, Tory colleague Dr Daniel Poulter stepped in.

Poulter stated that there could be a fatal brain problem after giving Guy a quick look as his symptoms suggested so.

A brain tumor was spotted by doctors after Guy was rushed to a hospital and surgery was suggested that had to be done immediately. Guy Opperman is now recuperating at his home following a surgery and is 45 years old.

Dr Poulter, MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, was appreciated by all other MPs for his work.

Gynaecologist Dr Poulter said, “Guy’s symptoms were possible signs of bleeding in the brain. He hadn’t been drinking so it was clear something was happening. I realised it was urgent to get him to hospital.”

A meningioma was diagnosed by doctors at St Thomas’ Hospital which is a non-malignant tumor of the membranes round the brain and spinal cord.
