Aramco awards contract to Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation

Saudi Aramco, a fully integrated international petroleum company with the world's largest oil reserves, has awarded Japan's Sumitomo Corporation a contract for a major communications package for the Manifa Crude Increment Project.

Under the arrangement, Sumitomo along with support from local Saudi firms, will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the systems including Communication Systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems/Remote Terminal Units and Facilities.

The Manifa Arabian Heavy Oil Field Project is expected to build facilities to produce Arabian Heavy crude oil and associated gas.
