Adder bites 9-year-old girl’s leg

Tylar-ButcherIn an attack of a rare kind, an adder bit a nine-year-old girl who at the moment is recovering in hospital.

Tylar Butcher was on a stroll with her family in the New Forest at Hampshire when she was bitten by the snake and following this her entire leg turned black.

She was walking along the footpath when she felt a sting and yelled as she saw a snake slithering away into the grass.

Her leg turned black and her family took her to Southampton General Hospital's intensive care unit.

Doctors feel that she will get recovered soon as she was treated with anti-venom.

Tylar's father, Kenny, said, “We just went to the New Forest for a walk with friends and literally as we were just walking back to the car my daughter let out a yelp. It was a very loud scream, not like one I have ever heard from her before.”

He added that one of his cousins who keeps reptiles asked him to immediately call 999 for help and he did as the girl stood on just one leg.

Britain has only one venomous snake native and it is the adder.
